Local Works is a co-working space, community hub and head quarters of Charleston non-profit Lowcountry Local First.  Based on the success of the program, Local Works outgrew the original location we designed for them.  This second location is housed in a mixed use development called Lumberyard, once an industrial complex.  In the spirit of the former use, DTA utilized off the shelf materials such as OSB and dimensional lumber and paired those materials creatively with exposed structure and utilities to create a cool and modern environment that is equally welcoming and comfortable.  The program includes open work areas in a variety of forms as well as private offices, conference rooms, kitchen and lounge.  Local craftspeople, fabricators and contractors were partnered with including Perrin Woodworking, World Granite and GlassEco Surfaces.
